Why is the read/write speed of my portable SSD, the 1T/2T ESD380C, unusually slow?

Category : Specification / Capacity / Performance

If the write speed of your 1T/2T ESD380C has dropped to around 10MB/s (you can confirm this using speed testing software), please consider the following solutions:

1.The default format for 1TB/2TB ESD380C is exFAT. If you use it on a Windows computer, we recommend formatting your ESD380C to NTFS, which supports TRIM and allows faster clearing of the SLC cache.

Note: Since NTFS is a format developed exclusively for Windows computers by Microsoft, it may not be compatible with other devices, such as MacBooks and smartphones.

2.Download the ESD Firmware Update Tool from the following link and update the firmware version of your 1T/2T ESD380C to the latest, which optimizes the SLC cache-clearing capability.

Note: Updating the firmware will remove all data on your ESD380C. Before the firmware update, please remember to back up your data.
